THE MAN WHO ATE AN ENTIRE AIRPLANE

Would you believe if I tell you that once there was a man named Michel Lotito who ate an entire 4-seater Cessna airplane.

Yes, it's true Michel Lotito- known as (Monsieur Mangetout) was born on 15 June 1950, in Grenoble, Ferance who was famous for deliberately consuming indigestible object.

It took Michel roughly 2 years from (1978-1980) to finish eating that airplane completely. He done it by first breaking down that plane into small parts and then started consuming and digesting each part. Apart from this it is estimated that between 1959 to 1997, Lotito had eaten nearly 'nine tones of metal'. his method of consuming it was same as first break them down into small pieces before eating them. He then drank mineral oil and continued to drink water while swallowing the metal bits, which acted as lubricant to help the metal slide down his throat.

How Michel was able to eat those strange things.

Michel was suffering for a rare medical condition known as 'pica', which is a psychological disorder characterized by an appetite for a substance that are usually non-nutritive and strange. Michel Lotito began eating unusual material at 9 years of age, and he performed publicly beginning in 1966.

His stomach lining was also twice as thick as normal person's stomach and he had usually strong digestive juices that were usually powerful which can digest almost anything, this is why he was able to eat and digest those strange objects without harming his body.

Awards

Lotito holds the record for the 'strangest diet' in the Gunness Book of Records. He was awarded a brass plaque by the publishers to commemorate his abilities, which he consumed as well.

It is estimated that in his entire life period Michel has consumed numbers of things which are as follows.

  • 18 Bicycles
  • 15 Shopping carts
  • 7 TV sets
  • 6 Chandeliers
  • 2 Beds
  • 1 pair of skis
  • 1 Computer
  • 1 waterbed
  • 1 Cessna 150 light aircraft
  • 500 meter of steel chain
  • 1 Coffin
  • 1 Gunness award plaque
  • 45 door hinges
Where Michel was able to consume and digest these strange things like metal, glass, rubber and other materials, but was not able to eat soft foods, such as bananas and hard-boiled eggs which usually made him sick.

From year 1966, at the age of 16 years, Michel had performed various shows publicly and unfortunately on 25 June 2007, 10 days after his 57th birthday he died of natural causes.
